ADVANCE is an NSF-funded grant aimed specifically at developing strategies to increase the number of women and minority professors in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and the social and behavioral sciences at FIU.

FIU Upward Bound is a federal TRIO program designed for students with academic potential who need additional preparation and motivation to succeed in high school and into college.

Related Organizations 

The Society for the Advancement of Women in STEM is a student club established for the purpose of promoting diversity in all fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The club mission is to spread awareness on issues that are common for women in STEM, such as impostor syndrome, gender bias and sexual harassment. The goals include providing a community in which women all in all STEM fields can gather can communicate their experiences. Membership is open to all Florida International University students, faculty, and alumni who share the common interest of promoting women in STEM.

The Association for Women in Science provides a unique national platform where essential research meets advocacy, innovation and practice in supporting the advancement of women in STEM.
