FIU Positive Parenting Program (Triple P)
FIU Triple P4YOU is an evidence-based Triple P (Power of Positive Parenting) Group Lifestyle program funded by The Children's Trust since 2011. The 14-week virtual program provides intensive behavior modification training and coaching focused on childhood obesity prevention, nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and positive parenting strategies.
Program Objectives
Families are referred through community partner agencies and receive support in managing their child’s weight through sustainable lifestyle changes and effective parenting approaches. Ninety-nine percent of participants complete the program.
Debbie Rudnicki, M.S.Ed.
Project Director
Debbie Rudnicki has over thirty years of experience in early childhood education management and is a certified Triple P supervisor since 2011. She holds multiple undergraduate degrees including a M.S.Ed in Child Life Therapy from Wheelock College, Boston. As Director, she ensures delivery of services, provides direct supervision of the Triple P model, and collaborates with local agencies and national programs.
Sabina Garcia, M.S.
Sabina Garcia is an experienced marriage and family therapist with a background in early childhood education. A graduate of NSU’s Psychology program, she also holds a Master of Science from Albizu University. She has many years of experience facilitating trainings in the field of early childhood and has been a certified Triple P Trainer since 2016.
Annette Gonzalez, M.S.
Annette Gonzalez is an experienced health and wellness trainer with a background in early childhood education. A graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University's Liberal Studies program, she also holds a Master of Science from FIU. She has many years of experience facilitating trainings in the field of early childhood and has been a certified Triple P trainer since 2018.
