Internships

Internships in Women’s and Gender Studies

Internships are available to students enrolled in our degree or certificate programs. We strongly recommend beginning the planning process at least one semester in advance to allow for a smooth placement and registration experience. Ideally, students should complete their internship one to two semesters prior to their final term at FIU, rather than during their last semester.

Please note that students are responsible for securing a relevant internship site before enrolling in the course. Internship placements may be within an appropriate FIU department or a qualified community organization.

To enroll in WST 4940: CWGS Internship, students must have successfully completed either WST 3015: Introduction to Global Gender and Women’s Studies or WST 3641: Introduction to LGBTQ+ Studies, with a grade of C or higher.
